Chris E. Glidewell
Chris E. Glidewell is a Co-Founder of Pivotal Tax Solutions LLC, a business and tax advisory firm. Mr. Glidewell is a Senior State and Local Tax Professional with extensive experience in Sales, Use, Occupancy and Property Taxes. Most recently Mr. Glidewell has served as Director of State and Local Taxes for Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide, Inc., the parent company of ITT/Sheraton Hotels and Westin Hotel Company.
Mr. Glidewell has had extensive experience in mergers and acquisition. He was responsible for transitioning all state and local tax matters relating to the $14 billion acquisition of ITT/Sheraton, $2.5 billion merger of Westin Hotel Company and the disposal of the $3 billion Caesars World gaming operations.
Prior to joining Starwood, Mr. Glidewell was a Senior Manager with KPMG, serving as a Member of the National Property Tax Steering Committee in charge of technology and new services and products. Additionally, Mr. Glidewell had direct responsibilities for the Arizona, Utah and Nevada practices. Prior to KPMG, Mr. Glidewell was the West Area Practice Leader for property tax at Ernst & Young, LLP, and worked for the Maricopa County Assessor’s Office as a Deputy Assessor. During all his experiences, Chris continues to develop on-going relationships with an impressive roster of clients and associates.
Mr. Glidewell is a graduate of Southern Utah University with a degree in Business Administration and Economics with an emphasis in Real Estate Law, Appraisal and Finance. He is a certified appraiser by Arizona Department of Revenue in Commercial, Land and Personal Property, and a Member of the Urban Land Institute. Mr. Glidewell is currently serving as the Phoenix Luncheon Committee Chairman for the Institute for Professionals in Taxation.
